“Bryan Bliss has written an empathetic and stirring novel about what it means to fight for the outcasts, the forgotten, and even the hated, reminding us that we all have worth. That we are all valuable."
— Sister Helen Prejean, author of Dead Man Walking
Bryan Bliss is a writer, a priest, and a theologian. His novel We’ll Fly Away was longlisted for the 2018 National Book Award and is based on his experience being a press witness to an execution.
In his better moments, he yells a lot about theology and capitalism and the death penalty and then quickly explains why the world needs radicals—people who risk their life for freedom, hate evil, and refuse to tolerate it anywhere.
He has an MFA in fiction and is finishing a doctorate in Public Theology. In his spare time, he’s getting tattoos, and, whenever possible, either mountain biking or snowboarding.
Bryan lives and works in St. Paul, Minnesota and is available for writing, speaking, and consulting engagements
